Temporary Handoff Agreement — Daisy

Sample values. Names, dates, places, and any conditions you add are filled in automatically when you set up an exchange.

This Agreement is between Alex Rivera ("Releasing Party") and Jordan Lee ("Receiving Party"), regarding the dog known as "Daisy".

  1. Handoff. Both parties will meet at a neutral location to hand off Daisy on Friday, September 25, 2026 at [meeting place].
  2. Return. Receiving Party will return Daisy to Releasing Party on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at [meeting place], at a time the parties confirm in writing.
  3. Care during the period. The party in possession will provide appropriate food, water, shelter, exercise, supervision, and any scheduled medication or care, and will tell the other party promptly about any illness, injury, or emergency.
  4. Emergency care. If Daisy needs emergency veterinary care while in Receiving Party's possession, Receiving Party is authorized to obtain it without waiting for consent, and will notify Releasing Party as soon as reasonably possible. Emergency veterinary costs are shared equally unless the parties agree otherwise in writing. Non-emergency or elective care requires Releasing Party's written consent.
  5. Responsibility to others. While Daisy is in a party's possession, that party is responsible for any injury to a person or damage to property caused by Daisy during that period, and will hold the other party harmless for it.
  6. Updates. Receiving Party agrees to provide Releasing Party with photo updates monthly. These commitments are made in good faith and do not by themselves create any right of ownership, visitation, or control.
  7. Expenses. Each party pays the ordinary costs of Daisy while Daisy is in their care. Emergency costs are shared equally unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.
  8. No change in rights. This is a temporary arrangement. It does not transfer ownership of Daisy, and Releasing Party remains the owner throughout.
  9. Not an admission. This Agreement is a practical arrangement for the care and return of Daisy, and nothing more. It is not an admission of any fact, fault, ownership, or legal position by either party. Neither party may offer this Agreement, or any receipt generated under it, as evidence of ownership, primary caretaker status, parental fitness, availability, means, waiver, acquiescence, or agreement to any custody or property arrangement, in any divorce, separation, dissolution, custody, property-division, or other proceeding between the parties. Which party travels, which party is in possession at any moment, and where the parties meet are logistics chosen for convenience and carry no legal significance. The parties chose this structure because it is easy to manage, not to establish any position.
  10. Confirmation. Each party will confirm the handoff, and the return if there is one, in the app when it happens. The parties agree that these receipts — with their timestamps, confirming accounts, notes, and any reported issues — are the record of whether and when a handoff occurred, and may be used as evidence of that. Subject to Section 9, they are not evidence of either party's rights.
  11. The platform is not involved. Easier Exchange is a software tool used to write, sign, and record this Agreement. It is not a party to it, is not responsible for either party's performance, and does not give legal advice. Each party releases Easier Exchange from any claim arising out of this Agreement, a missed or disputed handoff, or anything that happens to Daisy.
  12. General. This is the entire agreement between the parties on this subject. It is governed by the law of the state where the handoff occurs. Electronic signatures are valid and binding. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Either party may download the signed copy and every receipt at any time. Confirmation ID EX-SAMPLE00.
